Nice to see SDLP posters in various parts of East Belfast, this one is at Short Strand. Mary Muldoon is the candidate. A declaration of interest. I first met Mary over forty years ago, when we were both members of Falls Branch, SDLP. She is a former Belfast City councillor from the dark years of The Troubles.

East Belfast is not exactly fertile ground for SDLP but Sinn Féin have been the dominant Nationalist Party there for some time. It is possible that some SDLP and Sinn Féin voters will vote tactically for Naomi Long of Alliance. But I suspect that Long has squeezed all the nationalist votes she can.
