BBC World Service

There is nothing quite so sickening as the BBC congratulating…….the BBC.

BBC World Service has closed down and the BBC is praising itself for speaking Truth unto Nation and general impartiality. Meanwhile in the Real World, BBC journalists in Norn Iron are posting feel good stories from various Twelfth venues.

Impartiality?

  1. I’ll never forget listening to a report on the BBC World Service news hour in 1994 discussing that year’s All-Ireland Senior Football Championship between Down and Dublin, a “unique international event” where a “British team” was competing against a “Southern Irish team” and where thousands of fans from the “United Kingdom” were visiting the “Southern Ireland capital”. I especially liked the fact that the game was taking in some place called Croakey Park.

    Impartial, yes? 😉

    • The BBC is a legend in its own lunchtime.
There is a default setting where BBC people are obliged to believe they are without equal.
There was and possibly still is an office in BBC London occupied by the British Security Services which vetted employees.
Oddly a person who passed the vetting was given a little Christmas tree marking on their file.
Important therefore to remember that each ex-BBC reporter/journalist/producer has gone thru that procedure.
Important also to think that there was/ois likely to be a spook in Ormeau Avenue.
As Kate Adie recently pointed out she had no idea what the Norn Iron conflict was all about until she as on a tour of duty at Ormeau Avenue and saw that there were so few Catholics in the newsroom.
Of course many of our local BBC staff are Orangemen…….and some are prominent members of the local Masonic “Press Lodge”. One or two are even Orangemen AND “secret shakers”.
Are they to be trusted? Well those of us will recall that the Zionist Michael Elkins was the BBC man in Jerusalem in the 1970s.
Of course its a safe bet that BBC staff are on the MI5/6 payroll.
