I am a big fan of Jon Stewart but I am not entirely sure that I agree with a campaign to have him moderate a Presidential Debate. Indeed I am not even sure it is a serious campaign.

I read a couple of years ago that many Americans had selected Jon Stewart as their favourite “journalist”. Even though he is not actually a “journalist”. In Europe we tend to think of Americans as a bit crazy. But in January 2011, Stephen Nolan was actually considered as a serious nomination as “Journalist of the Year” on a political website.

So lets not laugh at crazy ‘Mericans. In a few years…..Stephen Nolan could actually be moderating an Assembly Election Debate.
