The new District Council is effectively made up of Magherafelt, Cookstown and Dungannon.
Magherafelt and Cookstown are in the Mid Ulster Constituency as is the Torrent DEA of Dungannon. The other two Dungannon DEAs are in Fermanagh-South Tyrone.

SDLP Perspective.
All Parties will be satisfied. The indications are that there will be no changes at the 2016 Assembly Election. SDLP scored well with a seat in each South Tyrone DEA, which when added to positive results in the Fermanagh area indicate that SDLP is on course to regain an Assembly seat.
SDLP will be disappointed that it narrowly failed to pick up a seat in Moyola DEA but a seat in each of the four Mid Ulster Constituency DEAs indicates no change. SDLP will retain its seat.
