Slugger: You Couldn’t Make It Up

I see that the Slugger thread called “Coleraine Olympic Town” or whatever has now been changed by its author……..BBC pensioner Brian Walker to “Eton Defeated by Northern Ireland Grammar School”.

Walker is taking his Grammar School obsession to even greater heights.

You couldnt make it up.

What a crock of a piece from Kermit. ‘This time they lack a hero all Ireland could share like Sonia O’Sullivan.’, em, Katie Taylor anyone? The lack of research is astounding but expected.

And people wonder why the site is dying on its ass? A nice little hate filled piece that I have come to expect from SOT. It may come as a surprise to some but the boys in Coleraine nailed their colours to a mast, and it wasn’t an Irish one, so why should Irish media show a greater interest in them than say a Venezuelan in the velodrome?

    • Well yesterday Walker managed to mention Norn Iron gold medalists without mentioning Wayne McCullough. Because in Walkers view Wayne is the wrong type of Norn Iron athlete. His latest thread is trolling of the worst kind.

Totally agree with the above comments . Walker’s thread about the South’s perceived bitterness regarding GB & NI’s success reeked of small minded petty oneupmanship . There didn’t seem to be any research into the article and the man’s reputation as a journo took a hammering .

      • He has a reputation?

That is truly unbelievable! lol Perhaps I should submit a post on CBS educational achievements? (My almer mater) or simply some facts such as the recent Irish News academic results tables………

” he has a reputation ? ” ……apparently not anymore . Having read his piece on SOT regarding Boris , the guy’s ego knows no bounds . I really can’t get over his comment about Ireland’s lack of a hero to cheer this week . In his haste to put the boot in , he made a right balls of that article .

    • It was a spiteful little piece alright Mark. I can tell you now, and this may say more about me than them, as soon as I am on certain boards if I see a thread started by certain posters I ignore them; on SOT Brian is one of those I would normally ignore with his BBC, insider, unionist shittiness and stilted, hacknied prose.

I must add that my ignoring the musings of some is also applicable to posters on a whole lot of boards too, though thankfully none here!
