I see that Hans Rausing….best described as a millionaire drug addict….has been sentenced to ten months in prison for inhibiting the lawful and decent burial of his wife. Apparently her decomposing body had been lying for two months in their luxury Chelsea home.

Perhaps the Judge felt sorry for the recently widowed Mr Rausing. The jail sentence has been suspended for two years and Mr Rausing…..(did I mention that he is a multi-millionaire?) ………will get therapy for his drug addiction.

The Courts are not always so lenient when druggies steal a loaf of bread from the local Tesco. I hope that the sentence ….which might be considered “soft” by some people is not related to Mr Rausing’s status as a multi-millionaire. Have I mentioned the multi-millionaire thing.

Bloggers take it bad when multi-millionaires are treated a little too well by the Justice system. Take Slugger O’Toole, which has chosen to highlight the concern that namesake St Fintan O’Toole has that a Mr Quinn has been treated rather too well by the prison authorities …………but thats in Dublin so……its different. Obviously.

Will we read about Mr Rausing on Slugger O’Toole? I suspect not. But surely the folks who are most likely to raise the point about the “favourable treatment” of  Mr Quinn are not actually resident in that jurisdiction. Conceivably one or more might be resident in the same jurisdiction as Mr Rausing……who is a multi-millionaire.
