The Twelfth And “Uncle Tom”

One of the most unfortunate things about the Twelfth is the Catholics…….”Uncle Tom” types who feel that it is a day for everyone. Pathetic but thankfully not typical.

Unashamed plug for my blog Mr Fitz, I’ve imagined the Orange Order on Dragons Den, would appreciate your comments? Next up is the Orange in an episode of Father Ted!

Hmmm, thinking of someone who runs/edits a politico website on Norn
Iron springs to mind. I remember him patronizingly telling other ‘Kafaliks’ we didn’t understand the OO and what they represent, then someone neatly put him in his place and confirmed we perfectly understand the OO, that’s why we despise it.

Ah well, it was a bit different in Holywood I suppose…

    • Oh you might well think that but I could not possibly comment. 😉
As a general rule I think Catholics who live in West Belfast, North Belfast, Portadown do not really need lessons on understanding the Orange Order.

      • Agreed FJH. My entire family is from West Belfast while we (eventually) moved to Lurgan via Dublin, the States and Co Clare. We young uns were usually shipped off to Co Clare to avoid all the trouble at this time of year, good times down there tbh.

I still find it deeply disgusting though this opinion, a lot like how people support the monarchy (in any jurisdiction) as a decent form of head of state. I just turned 30 and have found myself getting cynical and despondent about humans, I think we have taken a step back over the past few years. Anyway, I’m probably off to Aus, best of luck baby boomers, I’m not supporting the lifestyle you’ve come accustomed to!
